Why Consider Foot Kinesiology?

Injury Prevention - By analysing the biomechanics of the feet, foot kinesiology can identify imbalances or areas of weakness that may predispose an individual to injury. Targeted strengthening and foot mobility exercises can then be prescribed to address these issues.

Improved Posture and Alignment - The feet are the foundation of the body. When the feet are properly aligned and functioning optimally, it can have a positive ripple effect up the kinetic chain, leading to better posture and body mechanics.

Reduced Pain and Discomfort - Many common foot and lower limb issues, such as plantar fasciitis, bunions, and neuromas, can be better managed or resolved through the principles of foot kinesiology.

Foot kinesiology can be particularly beneficial for athletes, helping to maximise power, efficiency, and agility through refined neuromuscular control and mechanics of the feet.

By addressing the feet through foot kinesiology tape, we can unlock improved function, reduced injury risk, and enhanced quality of life. Want to know more? Get in touch with us by calling 9592 5502.

Dry Needling

Dry needling is a highly effective soft tissue therapy that involves the insertion of thin needles into specific trigger points in the foot muscles. This technique can alleviate muscle tension, improve flexibility, and reduce chronic foot and ankle pain and is particularly effective for addressing plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinitis, and other foot and ankle problems.

Is Dry Needling the Same as Acupuncture for Foot Pain?

While they may physically look similar and use the same fine needles, there are a number of key differences. Acupuncture is based on traditional Chinese medicine and uses points around the body to restore chi and balance, helping to relieve pain or discomfort. Dry needling is based on Western medicine and is supported by evidence-based research to isolate and treat trigger points to release tension, helping to restore foot muscles to their healthy functionality.
